A season of films from a decade of movie-making
starring Anthony Steel, Ludmilla Tcherina, Antonio
with Leonide Massine
A prima ballerina oh honeymoon in Spain meets the famous Spanish dancer Antonio and finds herself dancing opposite him in 'The Lovers of Teruel,' much to the disgust of her husband.
Honeymoon includes two long ballet performances, 'The Lovers of Teruel,' composed by Mikis Theodorakis (who wrote the music for Zorba the Greek) with choreography by Leonide Massine; and 'El Amor Brujo,' written by Spain's greatest composer, Manuel de Falla, with choreography by Antonio. Both sequences were conducted by Sir Thomas Beecham. The former is danced by Ludmilla Tcherina and Antonio, and the latter by Leonide Massine, Rosita Segovia, and Antonio who as a dancer has achieved world fame, but here proves he has a captivating acting personality.
