Ten films about development issues in India.
4: After the Flood
Most of India's milk comes from the buffalo. It's traditionally been produced by families with only one or two animals who were frequently exploited by private traders. During the last ten years -in Operation Flood-more than 10,000 dairy co-operatives have been established in India's villages. How has Operation Flood affected the lives of some of the two million families it was set up to help - small farmers like Marasamy and Chinappa Gounder, widows like Angammal? And how much has it done either to raise their standard of living or to improve their status in the village?
