In 1955 art historian Nikolaus Pevsner delivered the BBC Reith Lectures on The
Englishness of English Art. Until recently all but one of the programmes were thought to be lost, but a search of a BBC basement has just revealed an unopened brown paper parcel containing a hitherto unknown mint recording of the lectures.
