Saturday Matinee war drama based on a true story, the first of three films showing today as a tribute to Dirk Bogarde, who died earlier this month at the age of 78.

The inaptly named Charlie Coward is captured at Dunkirk and makes countless bids for freedom, culminating in a final escape attempt with his pal, Billy Pope.
