Since its foundation in 1900, the Philadelphia Orchestra has had only four conductors. From 1912 to 1936 it was Leopold Stokowski. In this film he recalls some of the controversies that surrounded his time there.
For more than 40 years the musical director has been Eugene Ormandy. Tonight he talks about his life and his orchestra.
