Leprosy - The Ugly Disease

on BBC Radio 4 FM

In today's documentary to mark
International Leprosy Day Anne Catchpole describes how one Third World country - Thailand - is coping with what the locals call Roke Rünthe Ugly Disease. To compile this report she stayed at a mission hospital in North Thailand and, with a medical team, visited remote villages along the Burmese border to treat just a very few of the world's 15 million leprosy victims.
