5: Monsignor Bruce Kent
'If anyone had asked me in the early days, I'm sure I would have said CND was a bunch of Communists.....'
When Bruce Kent first became a priest, his concerns were spiritual and pastoral, but a trip to Biafra in the middle of the Nigerian civil war opened his eyes to the political implications of the Gospel. What he saw made him a pacifist and set him on the path which led to his becoming General Secretary of the very organisation he had scorned.
For the first time he talks personally about the priesthood - why he joined, why he remains and how his concept of priesthood has changed.
