Joe is a factory worker with a range of prejudices to rival Alf Garnett. When he meets wealthy executive Bill Compton who had, in a rage. just killed the drug-pusher responsible for corrupting his daughter, Joe is impressed rather than shocked. Shown tonight in a TV version, this powerful and influential American film centres on the strange alliance that develops between the two men.
