Theatre Night: Playboy of the West Indies

on BBC Two England

by MUSTAPHA MATURA based on The Playboy of the Western World by J. M. SYNGE Introduced by MUSTAPHA MATURA starring
Peggy Ford runs a rum bar for her father Mikey in Mayaro, a small fishing village on the south-east coast of Trinidad. Mayaro is, to put it mildly, off the beaten track and if you were to say that nothing ever happens there you might, with reason, be accused of exaggeration. Imagine, therefore, if you will, the effect on all concerned when a handsome young stranger appears and insists that he has just murdered his father.
