The first of two archive programmes to herald a new series of the topical magazine covering Asian affairs.
Network East delves into the BBC archives to present some of the finest playback singers of the Indian sub-continent. They include:
Lata Mangeshkar, world-record holder for the number of songs on disc (over 30,000); Asha Bhonsle (queen of Indian disco); and Kishore Kumar (the yodelling singer/actor).
