Remembering the Future Despite Latin America's violent history and continuing social and political problems from drugs to foreign debt, its many cultural fusions have created one of the most exciting artistic spaces in the modem world. This film looks at the mixture of cultural traditions in music, dance, painting and literature, and at how the arts are responding to the violence. It ends in Medellin, Colombia, the now notorious base of a drugs cartel where earlier this year 6,000 people voted for their favourite love poems in a poetic protest against the escalating violence about them.
