Public Eye

on BBC Two England

Teenage Kicks
One in four British
15-year-olds has taken LSD. Almost half have experimented with some kind of illegal drug. In the first programme of a new series,
Public Eye looks behind these newly-published figures and discovers that drug use is an everyday part of modern culture for a generation whose menu includes cannabis, LSD, solvents, amphetamines, ecstasy and cocaine. Reporter Su Pennington talks to young people about their secret lifestyles and to parents who had no idea that drugs are passed among their children like sweets in a playground. She also asks teachers and the police what they are doing to tackle this disturbing new drugs craze.
