When a sinister Vietnamese businessman is murdered in his Manhattan office one night, Daryll Deever , the building's janitor, and his oddball friend Aldo are both interrogated by the police. In a television interview Daryll claims to know something about the killing in order to hold the attention of the glamorous reporter assigned to cover the crime. But their relationship places their lives in jeopardy as both the victim's henchmen and the killer get on their trail. William Hurt gives an impressive performance as the solitary night janitor trapped in a deadly game of murder and intrigue.
