Ties of Blood

on BBC Two England

A series by GRAHAM REID
Going Home
While serving in Northern
Ireland, young Paul Rodgers married Colette, a Catholic girl from West Belfast.
Disowned by her family, she lives in married quarters in England with their two young children. Now her father is dying and she determines to visit him. But her homecoming is complicated by more than the fact of her marriage outside the family's faith.
In another part of the city a Protestant girl, Carol Brown , is blindly in love with a Catholic soldier from
Bradford - and quite determined that love can conquer all.
