Marooned

on BBC Two England

The feature film starring Gregory Peck
Richard Crenna , David Janssen
James Franciscus , Gene Hackman with Lee Grant
Nancy Kovack , Mariette Hartley
After five months of a planned seven months' mission aboard an orbiting space laboratory, three US astronauts, Jim Pruett , Clayton Stone and Buzz Lloyd , begin to show serious symptoms of fatigue. But when mission controller Charles Keith orders their return to earth, the retro rockets of their space craft fail to ignite. The three men are marooned in space.
This taut, suspense-filled drama builds up to a nail-biting climax and won an Academy Award for its superbly realistic special effects.
