on BBC Home Service Basic

View in Radio Times

on gramophone records
One of the greatest modern virtuosos of the harpsichord is Wanda Landowska , who was born at Warsaw in 1877. She studied in her native city and later in Paris, where eventually she became a professor of the piano at the Schola Cantorum. Her interest, however, in old keyboard music led her to forsake the piano for the harpsichord. Since that time she has won fame all over Europe and the United States.
