on BBC Radio 3

The second of five programmes in which jazz guitarist and composer
Pat Metheny talks to Ian Carr about his career.
While he was still with the Gary Burton Quartet, Metheny recorded two ECM albums under his own name, one of which was Watercolors with keyboard player Lyle Mays. Metheny recalls how he came to leave the Gary Burton Quartet in 1977 and how he formed his own group with Mays.
