12.32 Scene: New Age Gypsies
'A wild animal has got more freedom than I have; it can run about and do what it likes, but I am not allowed to do what I want to do.'
Over the past two years the way of life that New Age Gypsies have chosen for themselves has been the cause of great public outcry, fervent political debate and, at times, sheer misery.
For three months Scene followed a group trying to live their chosen lifestyle. Members of the group give their opinions about society's attitude towards them and the trials and tribulations of living a traveller's life are shown at first hand.
