Eisenstein Eisenstein , with Charlie Chaplin , is the greatest talent in the history of motion pictures (RENE CLAIR) The second of two programmes about the life and work of the great Russian film director. It begins with his departure for the West in 1929 and ends with his death in 1948. It includes extracts from every film on which he worked during those years, and contains some rare sequences never previously seen in Britain.
