Film Matinee: It's Great to be Young

on BBC One London

continues the season of British films from the 40s and 50s, starring John Mills , Cecil Parker
Music, mutiny and midsummer madness are the ingredients in this good-natured comedy set in a school. When their popular teacher, Mr Dingle , is sacked, the boys and girls rebel and barricade themselves in the gym-but luckily all ends happily. The school orchestra features prominently in the story and if their talents seem remarkable then perhaps Humphrey Lyttelton and his band should share in the honours.
