Designing the Decades

on BBC Two England

First of a new series revisiting Britain's design heritage in a journey spanning four decades and taking in iconic architecture, interiors, fashion and accessories.
Designing the '60s. With post-war blues a thing of the past, the 1960s heralded an international explosion in British pop culture. Among the designs that sprang from the flurry of innovation were the miniskirt, which actually brought about a change in the tax laws, the Austin Mini, a cult car which broke through class barriers, and one of the most famous album covers of all time - the Beatles'
Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Adam Faith ,
Terence Conran , Mary Quant and Tony Benn talk about this exhilarating decade. Presented by Penelope Keith.
