Sea and Ships: 8: The Grand Bank Schooners
Alan Villiers discusses his films with Peter Scott.
For this last programme of the series Alan Villiers's film was taken in the North Atlantic on the Grand Banks, the famous cod-fishing grounds off Newfoundland. There the Portuguese use the same type of schooners, the little dories and the hand fishing lines, that Kipling wrote about in "Captains Courageous".
Produced by Ian Curtis from the BBC's West of England television studio
