"I pay an awful lot of tax, without giving any more away to the needy," states Andrew Diaper , who, at just 32, earns a six-figure salary in his high-flying job in London's Square Mile, drives a Porsche, wears designer suits, eats in the best restaurants and enjoys four or five luxury holidays a year.
Helping those less fortunate than himself is certainly not a priority, but Diaper's lack of compassion is about to be put to the test. For one week only, he has agreed to eschew his champagne lifestyle to work as a charity volunteer in a hostel for the homeless, caring for some of London's most entrenched rough-sleepers. Will a taste of life on the other side of the tracks give him a different outlook?
