A weekly series of visits to music festivals around the world. The 1978 Lucerne Festival Vivaldi's Four Seasons
The beautiful lakeside town of Lucerne is the scene of Switzerland's annual music festival, 'founded in 1938. In this performance of the Four Seasons by Vivaldi, recorded at this summer's festival, the soloist is Arthur Grumiaux , internationally acclaimed Belgian violinist, with The Lucerne Festival Strings, whose players are drawn from the principal Swiss orchestras.
Conducted by Jerzy Maksymiuk , the permanent conductor of the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra.
