Film Matinee presents: Spellbound

on BBC Television

[Starring] Ingrid Bergman and Gregory Peck

The doctors at Green Manors suspect that their new head is an impostor who is himself in need of psychiatric treatment. Dr. Constance Peterson, in her eagerness to cure the man with whom she has fallen in love, helps him regain his identity, but in doing so, implicates him in a charge of murder.
This is Hitchcock's first incursion into 'the dark places of the mind' and it has all the qualities of excitement and suspense for which this director is famous.
