Last year's winner was Spain's Jose Maria Olazabal who beat the American Davis Love III by two shots.

European golfers have won eight Green Jackets from the last 12 tournaments, with Nick Faldo leading the way with three. Hopes that a British golfer will be in contention again this year will be high.
