A remarkable concert given last November at the London Jazz Festival by Australian group the Necks - a standard piano trio whose music is anything but conventional. Also, reeds player John Surman and drummer Jack DeJohnette remember their first album as a duo - The Amazing Adventures of Simon Simon, recorded 20 years ago this month.
