Happy Birthday Sir Adrian!

This Sunday is the 90th birthday of Sir Adrian Boult, founder-conductor of the BBC Symphony Orchestra, friend of Elgar, Vaughan Williams and Holst and one of Britain's most loved and respected musicians.
This programme uses recordings of Sir Adrian's own voice from radio and film archives to link a programme of music conducted by him, including the march from ' Things to Come ' by BLISS, ballet music from ' The Perfect Fool' by HOLST, an excerpt from ' Job' by VAUGHAN WILLIAMS and Romance in F by BEETHOVEN in which the soloist is Yehudi Menuhin.
