Leap in the Dark

on BBC Two England

The fifth in a series of six investigations into the paranormal. Introduced by Colin Wilson
Parlour Games by ANNE OWEN starring Hugh Burden and Patricia Quinn
Gilbert Murray was Regius Professor of Greek at Oxford from 1S08 till 1936; he was also an outstanding figure in the history of psychical research - his demonstrations of telepathy achieved one of the highest success rates ever recorded. If he had repeated his results under laboratory conditions, the existence of ESP would no longer be in doubt. But he always refused - even when he was publicly accused of fraud.
Our play, set in 1915, reconstructs the experiments and the events that followed Murray's first public claim to telepathic powers.
