Ways of Seeing: Part 4

on BBC Two England

The last of four programmes with John Berger.
In this programme John Berger analyses the images of advertising and publicity and shows how they relate to the tradition of oil painting-in mood, relationships, poses. Colour photography, like oil paint, can portray people and things in ways which make us want to envy the people or possess the things.
