Church and State
The third of four programmes on the Roman Catholic
Church in Peru investigates the political implications of the faith. The conflicting ideological interests of the USA and the Soviet Union exacerbate the acute internal problems of a country which has already undergone eight military coups this century and where today bombings, rioting and gun battles are daily occurrences.
