Starring Gracie Fields
Sally Scowcroft is a mill-girl from a small Lancashire town with one ambition - to be a singer. Sponsored by a wealthy composer, who at first provides unsuitable material, she eventually becomes a star with an inimitable voice and humorous personality, not far removed from the immortal Gracie herself. There are songs and comedy mix-ups galore in this characteristic example of the films which delighted millions throughout the 1930s and 40s.
