From the Strathclyde Suite at the Royal Concert Hall,
Glasgow, Jez Nelson presents a concert by Mike Westbrook 's 22-piece band - the Orchestra of Smith's
Academy. The orchestra, which includes some of Europe's top jazz soloists, has assembled for the first time in almost ten years for Music
Live. Featuring players such as Chris Biscoe , Dominique Pifarely and Alan Barnes and vocalist Kate Westbrook , the orchestra plays Westbrook originals and some radical reworkings of Ellington classics. Producer Steve Shepherd
