I KNEW A MAN

on National Programme Daventry

View in Radio Times

Gladstone
J. A. Spender
This is the first talk in a revival of a popular series. Personal reminiscences of the great Victorian statesman are to be given by the man who was Editor of The Westminster Gazette for nearly thirty years. Few can be better acquainted with the shifting scene of. politics during the last half-century. Those who have read Mr. Spender's biographies of Sir Henry Campbell -Bannerman and the first Lord Oxford and Asquith (the latter written in collaboration with the Hon. Cyril Asquith ) will be especially eager to hear his memories of the most famous Liberal leader of all.
