Jane Austen lived at Chawton in Hampshire from 1809 until her death in 1817. It was here that she had settled down to fulfil her genius. LORD DAVID CECIL visits Chawton, where Jane Austen wrote Mansfield Park, Emma and Persuasion and led a life of almost perfect domestic happiness.
