Last of a six-part series in which bosses turn a video camera on themselves.
Head teacher Pat Collings faces a stressful year.
Responsible for a large comprehensive school in south Derby, she has many day-to-day demands on her time: implementing changes in education policy, completing paperwork, balancing a dwindling budget, and bolstering the morale of the staff.
Unforeseen complications, such as having to advise on shelf construction in the canteen, distract her from the task of maintaining staff numbers without compromising quality.
She is also concerned that the long and gruelling hours she works are taking a toll on her private life. This documentary combines an examination of education in the 1990s with a portrait of a woman who worries about the sacrifices she has had to make.
