The last programme in the series is a radical and fascinating reworking of Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake.
Swedish choreographer Mats Ek, who received great acclaim for his award-winning version of Giselle, has thrown away Petipa and Ivanov's original choreography for this 19th-century ballet classic. Although Odette/Odile, danced by Ana Laguna , remains, this is very much a story for today, in which the Prince, Yvan Azuley , dominated by his mother searches for his ideal woman.
