The British Wireless for the Blind Fund makes this one appeal each year for funds to provide wireless sets for blind people in England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
The Fund would like to place on record its great appreciation of the generous response received from listeners over the years-but. again. approximately 4,000 sets will be required to meet the need of the newly-blinded, for some 11,000 people lose their sight each year. In addition. there is the need for replacement of old sets that are worn out after long years of constant use.
