Everybody's Talking, the theme from Midnight Cowboy, was the song that first brought American singer/songwriter Harry Nilsson to the attention of the British public. Since his death earlier this year, there has been something of a rekindling of interest in his music: the Beautiful South have had a Top 20 hit with Everybody's Talking (though Nilsson did not actually write that number) and Mariah Carey reached the top of the charts with one that he did, Without You (Nilsson himself took it to number one in 1972). In tonight's performance, first shown in 1972, Nilsson sings, plays and dreams a fantasy concert of his own making, with extracts from The Point, a children's cartoon for which Nilsson had recently written the score.
