Live coverage of the second session of this year's final, from the Crucible Theatre, Sheffield.
Fans will be hoping tonight's play can match the excitement of last year's final between Stephen Hendry and Peter Ebdon , which was level as session two began. Ebdon then came into his own, allowing his opponent to take just two frames while he notched up another six to finish the session 10-6. But the competition didn't end there. Hendry hit back and by the end of session three had drawn level again. The fourth and final session saw the lead swing back and forth until it levelled at 17-17. With errors from both players, the final frame went down to the wire. But Ebdon finally capitalised on a failed safety shot by Hendry to take his first World title.
Hazel Irvine and Ray Stubbs introduce the coverage, with behind-the-scenes insights from former title-holders Steve Davis and John Parrott.
