Arizona 1881: a black sergeant has been charged with rape and murder. Acting as his defence counsel is his friend and fellow soldier Lieutenant Cantrell, who not only has to prove the sergeant's innocence, but also fight the prejudice and intolerance displayed by the local community. (1960)
