Brecht in Newcastle
Songs! Battles! Laughter! Tragedy! Playwrights EDWARD BOND and PETER BARNES and actress JANET SUZMAN make their personal contributions to this special 20th anniversary tribute to Bertolt Brecht at Newcastle's University Theatre. With scenes from The Good Woman of Setzuan, and late-night performances of prose, poetry and music by Brecht, Weill and others, including British premieres of Roundheads and Pointed Heads and The Breadshop.
Also, an exclusive sneak preview of the 1976 Plays and Players awards. We discover whom the London theatre critics have nominated as the year's best actress and actor, the most promising newcomers, the best new play and the best production.
