Today, HM the Queen officially opened Birmingham's International Convention
Centre, where the Symphony Hall has been designed as one of the world's premier concert venues. To mark its opening the City of Birmingham
Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, with conductor Simon Rattle , presents a live gala concert in the presence of HRH the Princess Royal, featuring Mahler's Symphony No 2 - Resurrection, and Momentum, a new work composed by Mark-Anthony Turnage , commissioned by the BBC. With soloist
