In the Miller Mood

on BBC One London

No bandleader in the history of popular music has created a style or sound that has retained its appeal as long as Glenn Miller 's.
In the Miller Mood evokes wartime melodies and memories and pays tribute to the musical genius of Major Glenn Miller who mysteriously disappeared
40 years ago this week on a flight from Bedford to Paris. The programme, presented from a United States Air Base in Suffolk, is presented by former Glenn Miller guest vocalist Anne Shelton and features the USAFE Ambassador's Band, who have followed faithfully the American Army/Airforce tradition for the Miller sound. Augmented by three soloists from the original orchestra of 1944: Ray McKinley (drums)
'Peanuts' Hucko (clarinet)
Zeke Zarchy (trumpet)
