Max Frisch, author and playwright, was born in Switzerland and has lived there most of his life. He has written four novels and nine plays. His best known works include the novel I'm Not Stiller and the two plays The Fire Raisers and Andorra. His writing is distinctive and original, marked by seriousness of purpose and humour of treatment.
