Delius was born in Bradford, though his Yorkshire roots appear very little in his music. But the North Country
Sketches, written in 1913 and 1914, are an exception and evoke the landscape and atmosphere of the moors. Lyndon Jenkins traces the connections between the music of the sketches and the feelings Delius had for his native Yorkshire.
