THE SWING AWAY FROM SCIENCE

on BBC Radio 3

by DR. F. S. DAINTON , F.R.S. Vice-Chancellor of NottinKham University
Dr. Dainton heads a committee concerned with the flow of scientists and technologists into our higher educational system. The committee has established now that there is a genuine swing away from science and technology, in total more than the swing towards the social sciences and economics. This swing may force changes in our science education-a hidden benefit from a highly unsatisfactory situation.
