The Afterthought

on BBC Television

by Denis Constanduros.

Elaine, aged fifteen and very shy, is the youngest - the afterthought - of the Coombes family. Her mother and her aunt, Dodo, who look back with pleasure on their own enjoyment of life at Elaine's age, find her moods difficult to understand and even slightly more unpredictable after the arrival in the home of a lodger, Reg Blanchard.
