Sir Leonard Hutton

on BBC Two England

On Tuesday, 23 August 1938, Len Hutton entered cricket's record books by scoring 364 runs against Australia at the Oval. Since then, no English batsman and only one other player in the world has scored more test runs -
Gary Sobers 's 365 for the West Indies against Pakistan in 1958. It was for his native
Yorkshire that Hutton played county cricket. Now he lives in the stockbroker belt near London. Donald Trelford looks back on the maestro's cricketing career and together they step onto the Oval wicket to recall that day 50 years ago.
