Championship Darts

on BBC Two England

The Unipart British
Professional Championship from Redcar Bowl
The atmosphere in the hall will be beginning to boil as the semi-final stages of this eight-day tournament begin in which 32 top British darts players started out last
Saturday in search of a major title and a E10,000 first prize. Tonight the last four players 'toe-the-oche' and bidding for his third title could be the No 1 seed, ERIC BRISTOW and, if form is any guide, his opponent should be 'up-and-coming' Star BOB ANDERSON (No 4 seed).
The second semi-final should bring together two experienced campaigners,
CLIFF LAZARENKO (No 6 seed) and DAVE WHITCOMBE (No 3 seed), both itching to win this most prestigious championship for the first time.
The heat is now being turned on. It's up to the best of 11 sets, still three legs per set.
